The course

A flexible intervention that covers current trends in scientific publishing, inspired by work done in ‘The Strain on Scientific Publishing’ and ‘The Drain of Scientific Publishing’. Business models, sustainability, current (mal)practices, sleuthing, path to reform.

An overview of results in the analysis of the “Strain team” of trends in scientific publishing, slowed down and with added references to turn it into a course.

Here I share a version used in Milan in 2025, called “This is Water” as it focuses on scientific publishing, the water in which all scientists swim, sometimes without giving it much notice.
